Kathleen Esfahany
PiN PhD STUDENT
Kathleen is a second year graduate student and NSF fellow in the Harvard Program in Neuroscience. Kathleen completed her B.S. in Computation and Cognition at MIT. As an undergraduate, she conducted research at Stony Brook University and the Allen Institute to characterize population coding and representational drift in the mouse visual system. She also co-led projects at the MIT Media Lab and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to explore how non-REM stage 1 dreams could be guided and harnessed for generating creative insights. In the Farrell lab, Kathleen is excited to investigate mechanisms of learning and memory, especially sleep-dependent mechanisms and interactions with sensory perception
